Care and Support Manager takes Vice Chair Position at Business Forum

Brynmawr Business and Office Manager for ND Care & Support has taken the role of Vice Chair for the region’s Business Forum.

The Brynmawr Business Forum works to promote the area to improve Brynmawr for the benefit of the businesses and residents in the area regardless of age, ethnic origin, ability, sex, belief or political affiliation.

Odette spoke about her enthusiasm for the forum ‘we just want to put Brynmawr on the map. Our team moved to our high street location just over three years ago, but we have had a base in the region for over five years. To take an area that was once the UK’s leading in unemployment statistics and give it a new life is a challenge I absolutely relish. Of course it isn’t just about what ND Care and Support brings in terms of employment and support for the care sector here – it’s about how we support the full community’.

The forum helps to support full community engagement – with initiatives such as ‘Scare on the Square’ at Halloween and a drive to support all businesses with reciprocal promotional activity.

The ND Care and Support Team celebrated five years in the region this year. The team has registered more than 250 local applicants for work and currently employ five office staff, three senior care workers and 91 care staff across the region. These staff have provided care packages to more than 617 service users across Blaenau Gwent.
